These unique drinks coasters are made with handwoven Harris Tweed and natural log slice, handmade in rural Scotland. The chunky, rustic style brings a touch of country chic to your table.
This set of four features the most traditional and iconic pattern of Harris Tweed, the herringbone weave, woven by hand in the homes of the Hebridean islanders from pure new wool.
The irregular shape of each individual coaster follows the contours of the wood, which is complete with bark edge, making each one slightly different, and size varies from 9-12 cm across, perfect for a tot of whisky to a mug of coffee. They are approx. 1 cm deep. Four little clear feet on the underside protect your surfaces from any damage. The tweed is naturally water and grime repellant, any spills can be dabbed dry lightly with a towel . Do not submerge in water.
The log has been lightly sealed to preserve the bark edge, although it is normal for some of the bark to flake off, but this just adds to its rustic charm. The wood has been obtained from sustainable source.
In beautiful peat brown shades we call this the "Hebridean Heritage Set"., and there are three other equally attractive sets available in different tweeds. They are presented tied together with hessian twine, with a little sprig of (artificial) heather tied with a Black watch tartan ribbon, then placed in a copper-coloured gift bag as shown, making an ideal gift or housewarming present . Natural, sustainable and genuinely handmade, each piece is one of a kind. The Harris Tweed Authority swing tag is included, assuring you of the authenticity of the cloth.
